Access to medical records

 

The practice is registered and complies with the Data Protection Act 1998. Any request for notes by a patient, patient’s representative or outside body will be dealt with in accordance with this act. Please contact the Practice Manager for further information.

Am I entitled to see my Medical Records?
You are entitled to access your medical records under the Data Protection Act (1998). You can make an informal request to view your medical records by contacting the Practice Manager directly. However, practices can insist that you make a formal request in writing, to which they must respond within 40 days. Access can be refused under certain circumstances.
